Twenty4Seven Beauty: Quashay Lynise

Where are you from originally and how did you grow up?
I’m originally from Dallas, Texas. I grew up there and South Dallas aka Oak Cliff with my mom, stepdad and my 3 brothers.

What made you want to model?
As a child, Tyra Banks was my biggest inspiration and just watching her and seeing the art that comes from modeling inspired and lead me to model.

The term, “model” is thrown around just as much as “rapper” these days. In your opinion, what does it mean to be a model?
To be a model, I believe you have to have confidence, be strong and be ok with the word “no”. I also feel like you have to get rejected….you have to see the art in yourself and just work out whatever makes you unique.

How would you classify yourself (Print, Runway, etc.)?
I will say all and beyond. I can be whatever there is. I don’t see limitations, no matter what the world thinks.

In your experience, are “creepy photographers” a real thing? Elaborate.
Yesss!! They believe you have to sleep with them for pictures. Fun fact: Early in 2017 I modeled for a photographer and he was more concerned about sex than what I had to offer.

When did you get into fitness training? Were you an athlete at any point in your life?
I got into fitness training after the birth of my last child (2017) and yes, I ran track.

Describe your workout regimen.
1 hour of hit training with 10-15min of abs.

What is your most memorable moment as a fitness coach?
Seeing my client smile from cheek to cheek due to her lost of 10lbs in a month.

How important is diet in your life? Is there a lifestyle you stick to in particular, like vegan perhaps?
Yes, I tried being vegan but I love sea food. However, 80% of your results come from your eating. Working out is only 20%.

A lot of women are putting themselves in danger in order to achieve the perfect body. What is your take on that and what type of advice can you give to other aspiring models?
If you’re talking about surgery, yes its dangerous. However, women do what they feel makes them beautiful but you still have to work out and eat clean. You can cheat but you have to maintain.

How do you feel about Ayesha Curry’s statements about wanting to be desired although she is married? Can you relate?
No, I can’t because I’m not married. However, who doesn’t want to still be desired? We’re human.

With that being said, are you receptive to inbox messages? Why or why not?
No, because I’m fully aware of creeps, lol. I will never date from a DM but if you catch me outside, I’m single.

What has been the craziest DM you’ve ever received?
A guy sent me a video of him peeing in his own mouth.

What is your sexual preference and what type person catches your attention?
I love older men that love jazz and to dress to impress. He has to have his own shit/career and be ok with me liking women.

Let’s say you’re on a date.  Name 3 things that would turn you off early on. How would you handle it?
Slang talk, being on your phone and lack of manners. I’d simply say, “Yea, I got to go.”

Money, Sex and Love: Put them in order according to importance in a relationship.
Love, sex then money.

Instagram has become a huge platform over the years and reports of them removing “likes” have been in the news recently. How do you feel about that the possibility of that happening?
Um, I don’t understand why but I’m sure if they remove “likes” it’s because of bullys.

Do you prefer the city or the country? Why?
Both, but country because I love nature and to get away from what the city puts in your life.

What do you love most about motherhood?
OMG, seeing my kids grow and act like me is the coolest. Also, seeing them find themselves and personalities. My kids are my homegirls. I love them so much!

What is the biggest misconception about you?
People just see the sexy side of me. They don’t realize I’m smart, soft and have a big heart.

Describe a typical day for you.
Workout, be mom, train and photoshoot.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working in your profession?
Light candles and listen to jazz music.

What artists do you like from Texas?
Beyoncé and Yella Beezy.

Tell us something about yourself that most don’t know.
I love to help people and give them my last.

Any last words?
Stay true to yourself, no matter what. Only you can stop your dreams so never give up and don’t give the world or humans your power. You are who you are and you can be whatever you want to be, PERIOD.
